Tio Mane

As part of this project, we collaborated with the community to create an infographic campaign for a GoFundMe page, with the goal of raising funds to replace the roof of the Tío Mané Reading Room. Through this campaign, we were able to collect part of the funds needed, directly contributing to the replacement of the deteriorated asbestos roof and helping to protect both the people who use the space and the books it holds.

This initiative goes beyond infrastructure. The community of San José del Peñón has been forcibly displaced from their territory due to violence. Despite this, they returned to their town and continue to rebuild their lives collectively. The Tío Mané Reading Room has become a deeply communal space—created, cared for, and sustained by its people—and stands as a powerful example of resilience, memory, and collective healing.
