Sonidos del Sur

A collective zine project
Sonidos del Sur brings together 11 artists from different disciplines. Together, we explore sound, identity, territory, and memory from a South American perspective.
Each artist brought their own visual ideas, and we worked together to print them by hand using screen printing technique.
Printmaking process
The printmaking process took place at While You Sleep, where the fanzine was screen printed together through a collaborative process.

The making of the zine
The making-of video documents the process of creating the zine at While You Sleep Studio, showing the artist working through each stage of production. It offers a glimpse into the hands-on process behind the publication.
Launch at Sticky Institute
The project was officially launched at Sticky Institute, an iconic independent zine store and cultural space, with the local zine community. The day featured DJ sets on vinyl, playing Latin records by Aprieta Collective, Bellaqueo collective, Lucrecia Quintanilla, and Walla C.
